The series consists primarily of Board of Directors minutes and correspondence, financial records, published reports issued by Research Atlanta, press releases, and administrative correspondence. These records document the programmatic administration of Research Atlanta. The bulk of the collection was created from 1971 to 1992 but there are a handful of published reports from 1995 to 1997 included in this series. Report subjects include government reorganization and municipal services; the Atlanta Public Library system, Atlanta Public Schools, and Zoo Atlanta; Atlanta municipal government; criminal justice and public safety; economic and urban development; finance and taxation; housing; labor and industry; social services, homelessness and child care; and transportation.

Research Atlanta, established in 1971, was a private, not-for-profit public policy research organization that studied public policy issues affecting the metropolitan Atlanta region.
